Technovit ® EPOX – Premium embedding for porous materials.
Technovit ® EPOX is an epoxy resin system consisting of a resin component “Technovit ® Epox Resin” and either a fast hardener “Technovit ® Epox Hardener fast” or a slow hardener “Technovit ® Epox Hardener regular”. The curing time can be fundamentally influenced by the choice of hardener, which offers the user individual application options.
The system can be used for all types of embedding, but especially for porous materials, e.g. B. ceramics that are embedded under vacuum. The vacuum impregnation causes the epoxy resin to penetrate into the cavities of the specimen and harden. This also stabilizes the sample on the inside. For best results, a precise mixing ratio must be maintained. The Technovit ® EPOX components are mixed in a ratio of 2 parts by weight “Resin” to 1 part by weight “Hardener”. Then the ready-to-use Technovit ® EPOX is slowly poured over the prepared sample.
Curing now takes about 9 or 18 hours, depending on the hardener component used. In order to influence the curing times, it is possible to cure the samples in the heating cabinet or in a cool water bath or refrigerator.
Special properties
- Can be used under vacuum
- high transparency, good adhesion to the workpieces
- low shrinkage
- UV color stable
- variable curing times, can be influenced individually
- gap-free
